Oikos Storage is regulated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Environment Agency (EA) under The Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1999 (COMAH). The site is fully compliant with these COMAH regulations and a thorough risk and consequence analysis has been carried out as required by these regulations and is regularly reviewed.
Over time, these regulators have required all companies that owned the site to meet increasingly rigorous standards as understanding of risk and advances in technology have developed.
In terms of emergency or crisis management, Oikos Storage has effective procedures in place to handle potential emergency scenarios as required under the COMAH regulations. The onsite emergency plan is regularly tested and consultation takes place with the regulators and local emergency services agencies, as required.
